Safety information

Gulmarg Heliski partners with and employs experienced professional guides, pilots, helicopter technician and ground crew. We have an operational plan covering safety management, with procedures in place in case of accident, emergency, or medical evacuation.

Gulmarg Heliski operations and safety is run by NZ mountain guides Mr Tim O’Leary who owns and operates Alpine Heliski in Queenstown NZ from July to September every year www.alpineheliski.co.nz. Tim and his guides regularly guide private clients on Heliski expeditions to Alaska, Greenland, Canada, Japan and the Himalaya.

Our guides operate under strict protocol when organising groups on our heliski journeys. They will ensure your safety first. Each guide’s pack includes first aid, avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel and SB binding spare parts, spare pole baskets, etc.

For medical evacuation back to Gulmarg we will have oxygen bottle on board the helicopter, access to the doctor at Gulmarg, and for more serious injury we heli-evacuate to Srinagar Hospital.
